Hello!

I'm moving again! I've found a flat; moving on the 30th September. Quite excited, but lots to do, especially as I've agreed to do a lot of dogsitting over the next couple of months... ARGH. And I'm probably going to be SO EMO nearer the time because I will miss my beautiful Salisbury house sooo muuuch...

So I will be spending all my weekends up till then sorting through things and getting rid of shite. So many clothes, DVDs and stuff that I just don't need! It all has to go. But, I have a bunch of CDs that I want to keep. When I moved in here I put them all in my landlady's glass-fronted cabinet and I've hardly touched them since they've been in there. I don't want to display them in the new place, really, as I'm going to have enough stuff around with all my books and fish tank and plants and blah... But I don't want a 'special cabinet' for them either. And I can't bring myself to get rid of them (yet). I also don't want to just shove them in the loft/under the bed! What I would've REALLY liked to have done is have a really high wall shelf right round the very top of the room, going all the way around, but it's a bit difficult to do weird shit like that when you're renting. And then I thought, oooh! I'm going to have to get loads of boxes to transport them all in anyway, so why don't I just get some flight cases to store them in indefinitely? Then if I felt like displaying them in the new flat I could just casually flip the lid open and leave them casually strewn around... not that I would; I don't often play the things now I've digitised them all.

Then I found that a typical CD flight case only holds 120 discs. I guessed (quite accurately, as it turned out) that I have around 400 CDs. I actually have 382 as well as a bunch of Depeche Mode ones Dave has yoinked. So ideally I would need 2 x 200 capacity cases, which I then found, but they would've cost me the best part of £200! Ummm, nope. Aaand I wasn't all that keen on the idea after looking at them; big chunky silvery beasts - I thought it might seem like the boxes were always waiting to go somewhere, if you know what I mean. I needed something that looked like it always belonged in the room. Something decorative? So then I had a brainwave, jumped on eBay, and got these:

VINTAGE CASES! Went and picked them up today! They are so sturdy and strong, thank doG. I've spent the evening putting all my CDs in them.

Chaos in progress (dog is like WTF)...

Sorted. Just gonna get some luggage tags to finish the look! Just hope they fit/look nice in the new place!

(Would also like to journal moar.)

...are sitting in my car. SO MUCH STUFF. Oh my doG, what a hectic day. I scrubbed four houses, walked two dogs, did 3 loads of laundry, made a cake, washed up, hoovered out the car, loaded up the car with aforementioned belongings, then tonight I went to Nan's and made some dog beds. They're cosy. I'm sooo tired.

NEW HOUSE TOMORROW NEW HOUSE TOMORROW NEW HOUSE!

I think I've finally got over the board. I love all the friends I've made there, but... I dunno. Maybe it's because I've been there for nearly 10 years, and I have nothing left to say. Mind you, I don't have a lot to say at all, these days. Being happy makes you dull, it seems.

I sorted and packed and took the rest of my stuff downstairs to the empty front room today, and rearranged my room into a 'spare' room for Anna and Jon; put up their pictures and what-have-you. Hilariously, I put a Moses basket and giant cuddly toy in the corner. They were only slightly amused. Teeheehee.

We played Camden Underworld, and it was amazing. I think that was our best gig yet! There are some moar photos here. Thanks Sophie, you are an awesomeface! I've sorta turned my YouTube account into a shrine to Dreams Divide as well, haha, seeing as videos keep popping up on there from our wonderful supporters! :)

This moving malarkey is bit of a nuisance, to say the least. I've had to shell out about £200 on various new things, and that's after diligent (expert) research and buying the cheapest option every time, and even after blagging freebies from family and friends! I've got everything sorted now, pretty much... everything from dishes to doormats to doggy beds! But... then there's the utilities. Good God! I'm just going to type a list.

- Find and buy contents insurance;
- Set up an account with the best energy provider (I think I've decided I'm going to go with British Gash, I pity the fool);
- Set up water account (phone Wessex Water?);
- Set up gigantic rent direct debit;
- Set up council tax payments;
- Get a residents' parking permit;
- Renew car insurance (WHY does that have to come up for renewal now, darn it, and WHY OH WHY did the cheapest quote have to be from bloody Sheila's Wheels?);
- My best buddies HMRC (change address);
- Bank (change address);
- PayPal/Amazon/eBay (change address [when the bank has changed their records]);
- All the other internet accounts, domains and hosting and so on (change addresses and/or get rid of those that don't get used);
- Barclay card (change address);
- Pension (change address);
- Travel insurance (change address);
- NHS cards (change address);
- Register with new doctor;
- Write a card for Dr Gallagher and let the surgery know I'm moving (I will SO miss him!);
- Find new and not-at-all-scary dentist and conveniently neglect to tell the old one I'm moving (he's a tosser);
- Driving license (change address);
- DVLA/car log book (change address);

- Cancel benefits/council tax account with Southampton City Council;
- Cancel account with the meat man (because I found a butcher in Romsey who does 400g tubes of pet mince for 25p!);
- Cancel O2 broadband (if I ever manage to get through to the bastards on the sodding phone);
- Transfer BT line (to be activated 28th October);
- Set up new broadband (PlusNet) AND I FINK THAT'S IT. (I can't get decent unlimited broadband because none of them are available in the area. I got PlusNet in the end; it's unlimited between midnight and 8am which is prime internettin' time for me anyway. It'll be a total of £23 a month including line rental, which is great, and means no more lame chunky quarterly bills from BT. Annoyingly, though, it won't be active until after my phone line's activated, so it looks like I'll be relying on 3G for 5-7 days. Boo.)

So yeah, enough to be getting on with, and I'm doing so much extra work at the moment. I'm knackered! I went back to dancing yesterday too, so my legs are killing. Ouchies. I haven't been at all this term 'cause I've just been too busy cleaning, temping in the office (which brought back wicked memories), gigging, staying in someone's house to look after a lovely doggy, roadying for VNV Nation (wat) and all sorts of crazy balls. Everything's paid off now though - all the overdue rent I owed, money I owed to a few friends, the album production costs... all sorted. So I'm starting with the proverbial clean slate! I hope this house is worth it!

Housey.

I'm so happy, and I'm really loving this late summer. It's so hot! I reckon it was all down to us you know; we dragged it home from Spain!

House: I filled in all the forms and discussed everything with my folks tonight (they were impressed with my epic spreadsheets!) I'm going to the estate agents tomorrow to hand it all in... exciiite!

Steve said I didn't sound very enthusiastic when we were talking about it on the phone. I guess I'm trying not to get my hopes up. COME OOON. SAY YES ALREADY SO I CAN GO TO IKEA. No but seriously, I've got this superstitious feeling that if I get too excited and start telling everyone about the house and SHOPPIIING and planning colours of towels etc. that they'll reject my application. But, I have awesome guarantors and a good accounts prediction for the coming months, so... crossing all body parts.

I'm also getting a gigantic tax credits payment.

Best. Year. Ever.

We've looked at two now. Well, three, but the first two were in the same building and both as godawful as each other.

The one we saw today was much nicer, but it was right at the top of the house, and looked quite studenty. And it had furniture, which we don't need.

Hmmm...
It's been a hot weekend. On Friday, Anna and I went down the pub with Timur and Dave and that was cool, we just chatted about festivals and stuff. Ended up having a lock-in and me and Nikki were dancing around the back bar like pillocks.

Then Anna and I walked home with some cider and got chatting all night on the bench outside the shops. We went back to mine to sleep at about 5am and woke up at 2pm on Saturday. What a waste of a day! Then Steve came round and we got some chips and sat down the beach for a while, then went to the pub again. I went home quite early and watched Download highlights and System's London gig, which was shown on Channel 4. Bonus. ^_^

Daron. <3

On Sunday I stayed in the pub garden for most of the day. I'm making the most of it, says I, 'cause I'm gonna miss it when I move into town. Awww, pub.
Dave came down too and he had some serious beef with Dan, so we stayed there and drank coke all day. Then we went to the beach quickly to say hello to Mikey who was down there soaking up the rays.

I gave Dave a lift into town after that and popped into Anna's house for a drink. Then went home and chilled at mine. Yawn.

God, I had the dentist again this morning. £61. Damn it. But luckily it's all done now, and I don't have to go back for another 6 months. I had my root filling finished off and another filling done on the other side of my face, so I was numb all over. Now it's worn off my teeth have started aching, and I'm fucking starving now 'cause I can't eat owt, haha.

Damn it.

Come on, home time. I'm going to look at two more flats this evening.

w00t, Audioslave tomorrow. :)
