I just got an e-mail from the OU and for a minute there I thought it was my last assignment being marked but it was just reminding me to make sure my TMA scores are showing up okay on my StudentHome page. Argh, don't DO THAT TO ME. I want to knooow what I gooot...

I have the lurgy. Boo. Well, I did yesterday and a bit of today. I have so much catching up to do tomorrow because of it. I missed all my dancings today. Double boo. How interesting this entry is.

Oh I want to mention Claire Rayner, too. Because she died today, and she was awesome. :(

Mr Miles

I just found out that my head of year, Mr Howard Miles, passed away on New Years Eve after a battle with cancer. I found this in my old diary: "I have just read a whole act of Romeo & Juliet. Mr Miles is coming to watch our lesson tomorrow and if I hadn’t read it I’d have got bollocked." Sounds about right! He was my head of year and he was brilliant. We were all terrified of him; he was the only man who could appear as if by magic just in time to catch one climbing out of a music room window, shout loud enough to make you jump out of your skin, then have you cracking up with laughter with his next sentence. I'll never forget him singing Mr Vain in assembly. "I know wodda wod, and I wod it now." I won't forget how he came to my assistance when I was in tears over being bullied. "Is this the same little sods as last time? I'll have their guts. The cowardly little gits." I don't doubt for a minute that he actually DID have their guts. Haha. Mr Miles, what an unforgettable, hardcore dude. Goodbye Sir. x

Tam's old Deutscher Schäferhund has died at the grand old age of 12. Bless him.

Poor Saxon. He had a tumour that ruptured, and so he was put to sleep. I got a text from Tam on Monday and I cried lots. I've known him since he was a tiny pupple, when he and my dogs Pippa and Macca used to play together. One less good dog in the world. Run free, dude.

Yesterday I pet-taxi'd a couple and their dog Muttley to the vet, and it turned out that he'd had a stroke. If he's shown no sign of improvement by tomorrow, he has to go back and be put to sleep... and I'll have to take him. I've only known him for fifteen minutes but it still breaks my heart. Damn dogs. They say 'a dog is for life', but 12-14 years is just not long enough.
